Farfalla 2018 Sangiovese Rosé Adelaide Hills
This variant is currently sold out
Fresh strawberry, juicy cranberry and sour cherry with a hint of rustic savouriness and a dash of cream. The palate is soft and fine, with a scattering of rose petals that meander towards a crisp and elegant finish.
The grapes were grown in the Amadio Vineyard which is located in the northern part of Adelaide Hills near Kersbrook. The grapes were handpicked in March and then transported under cool conditions to the winery.
The grapes were hand sorted, pressed and cold seled and the juice was then racked to old French barriques for spontaneous fermentation. Some gentle lees stirring mid ferment and after three weeks, the wines were racked off the gross lees and matured in old casks for 8 months. Unfined, unfiltered and vegan.
Alcohol: 12.5% alc/vol
“It’s a matter of perspective,” he cried as he raced past me for the third time that day. I had tried my best for years to muster up feelings of intense dislike and even hatred for his endless enthusiasm, his too-loud voice and that stupid bouquet of flowers that he always wore so precisely on his nose. But I couldn’t. Whatever he had, it had now infected me, and I too was doomed to be happy all day long.
Prosciutto, watermelon and feta.
This is seriously rich in style, showing baked apple, spiced cherry, olive and dried flower notes on the nose, leading to a concentrated palate offering excellent weight and plush mouthfeel. Brilliantly structured by vibrant acidity, offering wonderful structure and length. At its best: now to 2023.
