Dark fruits, anise, bay leaf and mocha. Supple, fleshy, vibrant and intense.
The grapes were sourced from the organic Bassham Vineyard in the Riverland. Val and Bruce Bassham have cultivated this beautiful vineyard since its purchase in 2000 and it is surrounded by 75 acres of natural flora and fauna. No weedicide, pesticides, herbicides, chemicals and artificial fertiliser are ever applied on the vineyard and only certified organic compost is applied.
Picked at 13.5 Baume, destemmed and tipped into a large open vat. Cold maceration, natural ferment with daily plunging, pump overs and frequent jumping into the vat to save time, especially on those late nights at the winery. Post ferment maceration to extract more of our favourite Monte textural elements then the wine was pressed out, cold settled in tank for a few days before barrelling down. Maturation in old French oak hogs for 10 months before bottling without fining and only minimal filtration.

Mac and Cheese
This is bold and attractively flavoursome with blackcurrant, tar, bay leaf and roasted nut characters, combined with plump mouthfeel and succulent fruit intensity, leading to a lingering firm finish. At its best: now to 2026.
